Green & Growing Fair →
Kick off the growing season, and celebrate Earth Day, with the 20th Annual Green & Growing Fair at the Garfield Park Conservatory. The fair, sponsored by GreenNet, Chicago’s Urban Greening Network, plunges into spring by hosting a variety of vendors, workshops, demonstrations, and family activities to get your rusty green thumb up and running.

THANK YOU!
We had a GREAT workday today; thank you to everyone who was able to make it out. We picked up FIFTEEN bags of trash, woodchipped 100s of feet of pathways, and rebuilt the fence that the blizzard took down.
We’ll be back out on the 23rd for another workday and activities for the pint-sized gardeners. See you then and thanks again for all your help today!

Workday - Saturday 09-11-2010 @ 12pm
Hello Gardeners and Friends of 62Garden,
It has been a busy season and we are all reaping some hard-earned rewards.
Looking at current issues and future projects, the committee sees a need for a workday. Given hectic schedules, the best day seems to be this very Saturday. We apologize for the very late notice, but, unfortunately, it was a very last-minute decision.
I (Philip Crandall) will be...

Water Works Update
Greetings Gardeners, Phase 1 of the water fix is in place. The west side no longer needs to be turned off at any time (please do not turn off the west side water source). I am checking on the floats daily to make sure they are functioning as intended. If you notice that a bin is overflowing (some of them may fill to the very top…make sure it’s overflowing) or that a hose has been...
Signage Update
The 62Garden Committee met last night and one of the agenda items was signage. We came up with text that we think is welcoming yet clear about not taking produce without permission. Signs should be up soon. Additionally, the main sign on the east side was “re-installed” two weekends ago. Happy Gardening All!

Water Works
You. Yes, you. We heard your pain and are working hard to make the water system work properly. What does this mean for you?
If you garden on the East lot, nothing is changing just yet, but we do have a request in to have the hydrant leak fixed so that the water system can stay on continuously.
If you garden on the West lot, the system is working with the exception of the tank by the shed. Do...
Planting in Empty Plots
Dear Gardeners, As tempting as it may be, PLEASE do not plant in an empty plot that is not yours. All of the plots have been assigned and it has created a lot of confusion for folks when they show up to plant their plots. If you have planted items in a plot that is not yours please email us at info@62garden.com & let us know the location of it so we can be accurate in our records.
